5 hacks for cute gallery walls 😍

A fun and expressive gallery wall is a great way to liven up your space, whether it’s a dorm room, your kitchen wall or a hallway. Show off your passions, create personalised prints and bring them all together to create something that is totally you.

1. Pick your pieces 🤔

First up, decide how many pieces you want to have in your gallery wall. Here you will need to consider how much space you have, and if you have existing pieces you want to hang together with new art. Will you work with a colour scheme or will you mix things up? You could consider picking a theme, like photography, or a destination you love to help you make your selection.

2. Use frames to bring it together 🖼️

If the pictures you have chosen have different styles and colour schemes, you can bring everything together with coloured frames. Pick a bold blue or pink, or put everything in neutral oak frames to let the prints really sing. If your wall is white, then the options are endless, but if you are hanging on a coloured wall, it’s a good idea to think about how everything will work together.

3. Get creative! 🤩

You don’t need to stick to the rules. You can get creative by painting the mounting board and frame in stripes to make a bold statement. Try hanging typography art on its side or hang your favourite hat or a bouquet of dried flowers in one of the spots. There are plenty of ways to add your creative touch to your gallery wall.

4. Can’t decide? Pick a Poster Pack 😅

If you have a hard time knowing what will look good together, our experts have created some ready-made Poster Packs which we know work well together. Pick posters on a theme, such as citrus fruits or Italy, or choose a pack which will work perfectly in your space.

5. Finally, get them up on the wall! 🔨

A top tip is to place everything out on the floor once you have all your pieces framed. That way you can see how everything works together before making holes in your wall. A good guideline for gaps between your art is around 7-10cm.

Hanging your art is not something you want to do in a rush, so make sure you have enough time. Better still invite your bestie over to help. Prepare enough picture hooks, a hammer and a measuring tape and start with the largest piece and work outwards. Once it’s up, don’t forget to tag us on social media.
